Information we collect
RaceIQ collects the information needed to operate the app, support racer workflows, and maintain community features. The exact data depends on how you use the app.
- Account information, including email sign-in details and Google sign-in account data supplied through authentication providers
- Profile information, such as your display name, location, team or camp, and optional avatar
- Vehicle and run information, including car details, saved passes, setup snapshots, notes, reaction sessions, reaction attempts, and prediction run data
- Uploaded media and scan data, including timeslip images, OCR metadata, extracted fields, car photos, leaderboard photos, and optional profile photos
- Device and permission-based data, including location when you allow it for nearby track and weather workflows
How we use your information
We use collected information to provide the RaceIQ experience, support authentication, sync your saved data, improve timeslip and training workflows, and operate public or shared community features.
- Authenticate accounts through email/password and Google sign-in
- Save and display logbook entries, run comparisons, reaction sessions, and profile data
- Fetch weather and elevation context for runs and track-side decisions
- Process uploaded timeslips with OCR and, when applicable, AI-assisted extraction
- Display community-facing content such as leaderboard entries, public car photos, optional avatars, and authenticated reaction leaderboard visibility
Third-party services and infrastructure
RaceIQ relies on third-party providers to host data and support product functionality.
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and media storage
- OpenWeatherMap for weather data
- Open-Elevation for elevation lookups used in weather and density-altitude context
- AI model infrastructure used by the RaceIQ backend for timeslip extraction when AI-assisted processing is invoked
- Vercel for hosting this public site
Media visibility and sharing
Some RaceIQ media is private by design, while other assets are meant for public or community-facing experiences.
- Timeslip scan storage is intended to remain scoped to the authenticated user account that owns it
- Profile avatars may be visible to others in profile and reaction leaderboard contexts
- Car photos and leaderboard-related images may be publicly readable when tied to community or leaderboard features
- Reaction leaderboard data may be readable by signed-in users so leaderboard rankings can function
